I'd like to mention another excellent performance by the inimitable Don Knotts; as the TV repairman in Pleasantville, he's suprisingly subtle. Always a pleasure, Mr. Knotts.

umm-- you know he was part of one of my favorite shows- threes company. Though I will admit I liked the Ropers better; But how could Knots top Mrs. Ropers deadpan double entendres?

Mr Roper: Jack, the pipe is broken, we'll have to push it in.

Mrs. Roper (nasal deadpan): I wish you'd say that to me Stanley.

It's not a fair comparison.
