My thoughts are still scattered , so I'm offering you another video. I caught my first glimpse of Virginia O'Brien on late night TCM (a source from which only good things can come) and was mystified and then enchanted by her shtick; singing with a completely deadpan face. That's it. That's what she was famous for.

She did this act in a ton of movies; I couldn't find the one I saw originally, but this song, "Stinkin' at the Savoy" is pretty hilarious. Enjoy!

i don't know what people did to ease their scattered thoughts before the internet....
