I love the Crafty Chica, aka superstar crafter Kathy Cano-Murillo. Seriously. I'll admit it: sometimes when people are super-inspirational, constantly productive, seemingly tireless, and infinitely creative, I get all jealous and mad. (I'm working on this, you guys!) But I never seem to feel that way about Kathy; she's just real and fun colorful and body-positive and has a warmth that shines through the internet. For rizzle. SOOOO, I was super-excited when I was chosen to test out her newest line of products!
German glass glitter eyeball! |
I got this sweet mesh tote bag that basically screamed "flocking and glitter" at me, so that's what I used to decorate it! There's really no way to mess up with glitter, especially my best friend, German glass glitter, so I just went to town. In my adventures with flocking, I've found that it works best on a white surface so the color shows up best.

Last year I used one of Kathy's tutorials to make a Dia de los Muertos shrine honoring my grandmother, and it was such a fun (and emotional!) project.
You can get Crafty Chica goodies at Michaels (click here to see if it's at one near you!) or check her blog anytime for projects and general day-brightening. Someday I will meet the Chica herself and give her a big old hug. I hope she doesn't mind. I mean, the lady even has a crafty cruise.
P.S. I received this complimentary product from CraftyChica.com as part of the Crafty Chica Design Team, was asked to share an original DIY project. I only do promotions for stuff I actually like, I swears!
