My family cat, the infamous Joey, is about the same age, and also seems happier and more relaxed. For the first 17 years of her life, she was untouchable, but now she tolerates a little petting and doesn't bolt out of the room when you make any sudden move.
My mom recommended that we consolidate and open up an exclusive elder-care facility for these ailing beasts, who each require vast amounts of medication and attention. If only old cats got Social Security!
