I am constantly amazed by the the human brain. You have to listen to this story from Radiolab about an art student whose mind was almost lost forever, but was found thanks to her very persistent boyfriend. Inspirational for all the right reasons.

I listened to that radiolab too. It made me cry. Thanks for reminding me of it, I'd forgotten!
I need to listen to more Radiolab! I could hear/read crazy brain stories all day long. I love Oliver Sacks for supplying many of them.
