The Umbrellas of This and That

So, this is how it is now. Yesterday was my last day of work, and I have spent 24 hours being as leisurely as possible. This particular brand of leisure included a lot of activity; buying fun presents for my dear boyfriend's birthday, washing my dishes after three weeks of stagnation, and reorganizing my craft supplies.

Now I've cooked a fine dinner of tempeh and steamed vegetables (no, I'm not on a diet, but I am on a diet), am drinking white wine and watching The Umbrellas of Cherbourg while deciding how to spend my day tomorrow.

Oh, and by the by...I'M VISITING PORTLAND. June 1 through the 5th. It was up in the air for a while, but now it's real, the ticket is bought, and I couldn't be more excited. I think the key to total satisfaction is neither working nor going to school...wait. that can't be right.

You always make leisure sound so incredibly ... awesome. I really think that is a talent. I have no talent for leisure at all -- I end up eating too much junk food and wallowing in self-recrimination and my own filth. I think I could take some Leisure Lessons from you.

The first time I saw the Umbrellas of Cherbourg was right after Jon broke up with me ~1998. That was so not tight.

I am jealous of your portland trip now that I'm back at my station.

I want you to stay with me as long as you like! Sorry we just keep playing phone tag. I love you and can't wait to see you, eat Pizza Oasis, and watch movies till we pass-out.
Love 4-eva,
Derek
