DUDE! It's the most beautiful day here in Oakland; we just walked down to the Ace Hardware, where I allowed myself to buy four new plants. I have officially become an old woman, because I bought my first spray-bottle full of aphid killer and container of powerered plant food. That's right: I garden. I am a gardener. I spend time in my garden, and I'm not ashamed!

I read that gardening is a good stress reliever, and I've found it to be true. I like watering my plants every day. I like being able to always have cut flowers in my home. These are my gerbera daisies, which look almost as good in real life.

In other news, I made it to the third round of interviews for a job that, well, just wasn't right for me. I was pushing it to apply in the first place, and finally realized that while another few months of unemployment is not exactly ideal, I didn't want to lock myself in to a career-oriented position in the wrong career.

So, I'm still temping, doing Etsy, consigning, wholesaling, writing, gardening, and searching for a job that will allow me to do all these other things and still be a relatively sane person. Am I being too ambitious? Maybe. But the day after I ended the interview process with the job I didn't want, I got an interview for a cool-sounding summer teaching position. Bottom line: I don't feel like a total idiot.

I'm so jealous of your daisies! They're beautiful.
