New and Improved!
Because starting fresh is always the best! I love coral and all its shades right now, so henceforth, this blog will be pink until I find a new favorite color.

JUNEcraft
I seriously love everything that Junecraft does/makes. She has a complete understanding of my ideal color scheme and I love to beautify my work computer with her monthly calendar desktop backgrounds. Also, this:

is my new favorite thing. I keep finding myself drawn to "dog" stuff lately, and it's very disconcerting. I do not like dogs! Anyways, happy June. It's officially summer and the air is full of potential.

I hit the Oakland Museum of CA's White Elephant Sale last weekend. What an amazing place! A 19,000 square foot warehouse filled with gems that were practically being given away. I got a bunch of craft books, over 20 hardbound classics ($4 to fill a grocery bag), and some bits and bobs for under $10!
This sweet needle set was 50 cents. Since we went late in the day on Sunday, all items were half-price. Score!
Butch Beaver, from a sock craft book.
I really like these pillows!
Excellent colors from a Jaeger pattern pamphlet.
I actually got this above stuff at Pauline's Antiques in Alameda on Saturday, another place I've been meaning to go forever. I have the matching cup to this plate, so I was blown away when I found it!
My new best friend for spring! I love these little honeycomb paper guys. All in all, it was a banner weekend; I mean, I left the house both days!

I Love Yellow, Man
This weekend, I splurged and spent my Christmas movie theater gift card, valid only in San Luis Obispo, in San Luis Obispo. I saw I Love You, Man, starring the schlubulous Jason Segel and increasingly hilarious Paul Rudd. There's something so wonderful about a light little comedy that doesn't try to be anything else. Everyone's got all their pants in a bunch over the "bromance" craze, but I love it! I love stories about friendship, and I love bros. It also starred Rashida Jones, who spent the movie being radiant in yellow! It's now official; this deep shade of yellow is the hot color for spring. Check this out:
And I couldn't find a shot of her cutest yellow number, a sweet eyelet shirt. I'm way into this color and am excited to see it everywhere, especially on the big screen. Also, this movie is SO funny and I recommend it to everyone who can handle 2 projectile barf scenes in one movie (which I guess now includes me!).

I saw my first fresh dragonfruit today! The flesh color is amazing; it's actually brighter than the picture, if you can imagine that. I was at Rainbow Grocery after dropping off a bunch of products for Whizbang Fabrics, waiting for the traffic to die down so I could come back to Oakland.Yesterday I showed how much sewing I can get done when I'm down to the wire. It was a lot. A lot more than I usually get done in a night, with my generally unfocused, poky ways. I got through school the same way; waiting until the night before an essay was due, then busting out 15 pages . Procrastination is a bad habit and I'd like to change my ways, but it's worked for me well enough so far that I just can't stop. I guess I'll wait for something really bad to happen.

COLORS!

I'm really into the color trends of fall 2008. They seem extra rich this year!
Here's an example from Etsy seller getfeltup of the colors I'm especially loving; teal and mustard. I also like the plum shade that seems to be everywhere, but I'll shallowly admit that it doesn't look good with my new hair.
I have yarns in both these colors and hopefully I'll get something done before they're out of style again!
